The Beginning
Sanctify Holiness church was founded in February 1986 by Elder Leon T. McGraw.  By divine direction, Pastor McGraw stepped out on faith
and opened the gates to the church, at  8648 Highway 51 North, where he was able to rent the facility from Reverend Ford of the West Cannon
Baptist Church.

The Lord gave the Pastor the name "
Sanctify  Holiness" because God wanted the people to be sanctified and holy.  The bible informs us in
Leviticus 20:7,
"Sanctify yourselves therefore, be ye holy:  for I am the Lord your God."  God wanted a leader that believed in sanctification
and holiness, even in this day and time.

With only eight members:  The Pastor, First Lady McGraw, Elder and Sister Joseph McGraw, Darrien McGraw, Gail McGraw-Carodine, Tracy
McGraw,  and  Joseph McGraw Jr., the congregation formed the church choir.  The choir sang the same song Sunday morning and evening,
"He
Is So Good to Me".

The Vision
In 1996 the Lord  once again came to Pastor McGraw,  giving him a vision of a new edifice, leading him to the
land in which he was to build this new sanctuary.    Seeming like an impossible task,  with the membership
being small, the Pastor stepped out on faith and with determination, he began to move in the "Will of God"

The Gift:
In February  1998, devastating winds swept through Millington, Tennessee destroying the trusses,
laying to waste all the hard work of  the brethren.  With an already difficult task, seeing such damage, made the members and Pastor heart
break.

News quickly spread, as others saw and heard of the destruction.  It wasn't long when the calls from people near and far came in, from those
who shared the pain, telling Pastor they were praying for us.   What the devil meant  for bad, God meant  for good.  With February 14, vastly
approaching,  so did the brothers and sisters from all over,  that God touched to come and show their love;  by assisting in repairing the damage
that was done.

God continued to show his love towards this small church, as everyone near and far stopped by and felt the presence of God, even before the
churches finishing touches were made.  Through the desert and in the mist of the storm, Sanctify Holiness will continue to hold on to its faith in
God.
